In Pickering he is on the board of director's for 'Backwood Players', a theatre company focused on producing plays of a historical nature, the longest running of which is the award winning 'A Spirit Walk' which the company produces every September. Mark has performed regularly in this company in addition to acting as producer, director and writer.
As an improvisor he has graduated from the Second City Conservatory having been taught by Steve Morel, Frank McNaulty and Chris Earle. He has also been trained by Jan Caruana, Bruce Hunter, Kate Ashby, Kevin Patrick Robbins and Naomi Sniekus among others.
He has a BA in Film Studies from Carleton University and is slowly working on his screenplay. Outside of theatre he loves science fiction, attending old movie screenings at the TIFF lightbox, and riding trains!
