Karena Thomas
Born and raised in Newcastle, Australia, Karena began her acting training at the University of Wollongong, graduating with a B.A and M.A in theatre performance. Wanting to deepen her understanding of truthful performing, she moved to Sydney where she studied the Meisner Technique at the Actor's Pulse studio for actors.
Karena began her own series of workshops, teaching TheatreSports to adults wanting to improve their communication skills. Involved in many theatrical productions (both onstage and off) she has also been affiliated with Improv Australia, and performed at the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
With a keen interest in improv, she moved to Toronto in 2008 to study longform improvisation at the Impatient Theatre Co., where she now performs with the improv team Nakatomi Protocol and with artistic director Kevin Patrick Robbins in the heartwarming and hilarious improv show Robbins & Thomas.
Karena has also studied with Zach Ward of DSI Comedy Theater and Curtis Gwinn of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York.
