Annie Bankes

Managing Director | Hometown: Ajax, ON

As a native Ajax-ian, Annie grew weary of sunny skies and green pastures, and turned to Toronto in search of smog and traffic delays. She began her improv career by accident at The Second City Toronto. After completing Second City's training program, Annie started at the ITC where she was fortunate enough to study under many great instructors including artistic director Kevin Patrick Robbins and Alison Hogg.

Annie has also trained with Pat O'Brian, Jason R. Chin and Jeff Griggs (i.O Chicago); as well as Eric Hunicutt (i.O. West, LA), Rich Talarico (SNL, MadTV), Susan Messing (Annoyance Theatre), and i.O Theatre's co-founder and improv guru Charna Halpern.

Annie currently performs weekly with the uproarious femme-fatale team WDWMKR, and is a cast member of ITC's flagship show Munchausen. Outside of improv, Annie is an avid collector of degrees and diplomas, and currently possesses a diploma in Film and Television Production, as well as a Counseling diploma, half a Psych degree, and is working on a degree in Social Work.
