Amie Vu

Amie has always found joy in the performing arts. For this, she credits her strict Asian parents who, from the age of four to nineteen, forced her under the threat of the wooden spoon to study classical music and dance, thinking that this would magically turn Amie into a medical doctor.

In 2003, much to the Vu’s chagrin, Amie took a fond interest in comedy improvisation. After completing her training at Second City, she gravitated to long-form improvisation and joined the Impatient Theatre Company, under the guidance of Kevin Patrick Robbins. That decision enabled her to study improv under other great talents such as Mark Sutton and Joe Bill (Annoyance Theatre, Chicago) and to perform in several comedy festivals around North America, including the Dirty South Improv Festival in North Carolina and the Chicago Improv Festival.

Currently, Amie rehearses and performs with the Harold team, “The Markov Variation”

During business hours, as a graduate from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Science degree, Amie still fends off the now proverbial wooden spoon as best she can by building/managing investment fund portfolios and insurance/estate planning for individuals, small business and professional corporations.
