Alex has been improvising for eight years, getting his start with the Canadian Improv Games in high school. As a player, he competed at the national level and now volunteers with the CIG as a trainer, teaching workshops regionally and nationally.
In December of 2006, Alex participated in a theatre outreach project in the Kibera Slums of Nairobi, Kenya. He helped facilitate a week of workshops and rehearsals with a group of young people in the community culminating in a three act play, written and performed by local residents for members of their community, concerning pressing social issues.
Thanks to the Impatient Theatre Co., Alex has fallen in love with longform and is now the Managing Director of the company. He strives continuously to improve his skills as a teacher and improviser in hopes of contributing as much to the art form as possible.
