IMPROV 101: Introduction to Improvisation
This course is packed with goodies for new and experienced improvisers alike. No matter your level of experience, this is where you want to start your improv training at ITC.
You will be doing improv comedy scenes on Day One. It's natural. We do it all day, every day. There's nothing to be afraid of here. As the course builds, so will your comfort and confidence. You will be introduced to such amazing improv concepts as: "active listening," "creating characters," and "how to create and move imaginary objects through space." We know, right? Who wouldn't want to do this?
Instructor for This Class
Josef Addleman
After moving to Toronto in 2006, Josef wandered through the wastes studying education and feeling lost. Eventually, he was directed to Impatient Theatre Company, where he studied under a host of Kevins and Seans, and began mainlining improv to feed his long-neglected performance addiction.
Now an English teacher by day, and ITC player by nights, Josef is chuffed to be a part of Toronto's improv community. Lately, he's also very happy to have studied in workshops and such with such people and groups as PROJECTproject, Joe Bill and Mark Sutton, Crumbs, and other handfuls of fantastic.
