IMPROV 101: Introduction to Improvisation
This course is packed with goodies for new and experienced improvisers alike. No matter your level of experience, this is where you want to start your improv training at ITC.
You will be doing improv comedy scenes on Day One. It's natural. We do it all day, every day. There's nothing to be afraid of here. As the course builds, so will your comfort and confidence. You will be introduced to such amazing improv concepts as: "active listening," "creating characters," and "how to create and move imaginary objects through space." We know, right? Who wouldn't want to do this?
Instructor for This Class
Georgea Brooks-Hancock
In the seven years Georgea Brooks-Hancock has been improvising, she has traveled around Canada and the U.S. learning comedy. She rooted herself in Toronto in 2006 by initiating a long standing relationship with the Impatient Theater Co.
Georgea's training is diverse, not only in the realm of improv comedy but also in both sketch and stand up comedy. Improv-wise she has been taught by Kevin Patrick Robins, Adam Cawley, Jet Eveleth, Joe Bill, Lee White, Steve Sims, Dave Morris, Bill Arnet, etc.
Currently, Georgea is hard at work with the ITC's Harold team Edgewater Hotel, as well as self produced groups such as Boom Baby and Tony and George. When she is not doing improv she is hard at work attempting to make a name for herself in the Toronto stand up scene.
Also Georgea is adorable. Just saying.
