IMPROV 201: Game of the Scene and Second Beats

An examination of the two-person scene, with attention on the game of the scene. New challenges will elevate the improviser to a higher performance level: making more interesting choices, creating richer characters and building tension.

With a thorough understanding of scenework, students bring scenes to life through specificity in their actions, words and character choices. This course also introduces you to the Armando, an show in which scenes are inspired truthful monologues.

Pre-requisite:
Successful completion of IMPROV 101 or pre-approval.

Sean Magee

Sean was born in Bangor, Maine and was raised there and outside of Rochester, New York. In 2001 he began improvising on his high school team, Downstage. After his exile to Canada in 2003, Sean began his training in longform improvisation with Kevin Patrick Robbins.
