IMPROV 101: Introduction to Improvisation
This course is packed with goodies for new and experienced improvisers alike. No matter your level of experience, this is where you want to start your improv training at ITC.
You will be doing improv comedy scenes on Day One. It's natural. We do it all day, every day. There's nothing to be afraid of here. As the course builds, so will your comfort and confidence. You will be introduced to such amazing improv concepts as: "active listening," "creating characters," and "how to create and move imaginary objects through space." We know, right? Who wouldn't want to do this?
Instructor for This Class
Wayne Molinski
In September of two thousand five, Wayne stood naked and nervous as to what direction he wanted his life to go. Then in a blinding flash of obviosity, longform improv rose up and said "I may just look like a path for now but if you choose to follow me I will turn into a road." So Wayne followed and a road it did become.
Since that day, Wayne has studied extensively with the Impatient Theatre Company, completing their signature longform improv training. He has trained and studied with the ITC's creative director, Kevin Patrick Robbins, as well as company mainstays Sean Tabares, Jason Johnston, and Alex Tindal. He is a part of the Harold team Little American Bastards and a cast member of the ITC's exciting and energetic flagship show, Munchausen.
Wayne has also had the amazing good fortune of studying with Carrie Barrett and Bill Arnet of IO Chicago, Porter Mason of the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York, and Craig Cackowski of IO West in Los Angeles.
